Share your talents
Before the event, high school students can participate in the get lit writing and art contest by submitting their work. After submissions close, a panel comprised of English Professors and current university students judge the submissions and award the top three in each category.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners receive a certificate of their award alongside a monetary prize.
revel in community
During the event, students will get the opportunity to share their craft with their peers during the open mic section of the event. Artwork is also displayed throughout the event for students to view.
High school students also get the option to ask current university students questions about college courses, the application process, student life, and more.
get a taste of college life
Get Lit participants tour the WIU Quad City Campus and sit in on real college courses, allowing them to see first hand what college life is like and get a taste of what may await them if they choose to go down the college path.
